Religious Education: Faith, Family, Formation

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6

The Religious Education program is aimed at fostering a love for God and his Church, guiding children to grow in faith, understanding, and Christian living. Through age-appropriate lessons, prayer, Scripture, and interactive activities, children in Grades 1 through 6 learn about God’s love, the life of Jesus, the Sacraments, moral living, and the importance of participating in the life of the Church. Guided by dedicated catechists and supported by families, this program nurtures a lifelong journey of faith and prepares children for full participation in the sacramental life of the Church.

FAQs

RE sessions begin on the first Sunday in October. Children gather in the parish auditorium from 12:15-12:30pm for a snack of bagels w/cream cheese and apple juice. From 12:30-2:00pm, students are dismissed to their classrooms for instruction. At 2:00pm, children are brought down to the gathering area to be picked up by their parent(s). Yes. However, whenever possible, we strongly encourage all children to attend Religious Education sessions on campus. One of our greatest hopes is to build a joyful, Christ-centered community of families who are growing together in their Catholic Faith. When your child participates in classes at Queen of Peace, they not only learn about Jesus – they form Catholic friendships that often grow beyond our campus into lasting bonds of faith and fellowship.
