Our parish comes together to support food pantries in the Madison area, making sure that our brothers and sisters in need not only have enough food to eat, but also have the personal care items for themselves and their families. Please see some ways we do this below.

Hospitality Weekend CMC Collection

Due to the pandemic, we are not gathering after Mass for hospitality weekends. Instead, we invite you to safely come together to do great things! Let's help those in need during these challenging times by bringing a personal care or food pantry item for the Catholic Multicultural Center. Bins are located in the Gathering Space.

*The CMC pantry is currently in need of empty plastic grocery bags, individual water bottles, individual Gatorade bottles and personal care items such as toothpaste/toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc.

Food Pantry Gardens

Our parish partners with the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens to help provide local food pantries with first-choice, fresh, nutritious and culturally relevant vegetables. There are 10 gardens total that have grown and donated more than 2 million pounds of produce to the Dane County emergency food system.

The vegetables harvested from the Emmett Schulte Garden, is delivered to the Catholic Multicultural Center, where it is distributed through their food pantry or included in their daily free meal program. Our parishioners typically volunteer with this specific garden, since the CMC is one of our ministries.

Gleaning

Our parish collects produce at the downtown Farmer's Market to disburse to food pantries and shelters in the area. We rotate weekends with other churches in the community.

Big Truck Weekends

Our Big Truck Weekends happens twice a year, supporting St. Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Multicultural Center.

We have trucks in our parking lot to collect donations of food, personal care items, gently used clothing and small household goods to go to these great organizations.

Bags are available at Mass the weekend before for you to take home and bring back the next weekend to help us fill the truck!

St. Vincent de Paul

Our parish partners with St. Vincent de Paul throughout the year, including collections on Big Truck Weekend. We also donate flannel shirts for Port St. Vincent, a home for men.
