Youth Ministry (Gr. 7-8, 9-12)
Youth Ministry helps middle and high school students deepen their relationship with God and experience their faith while being an integral part of the parish family and larger community. Youth Ministry includes Sunday classes, mini courses, summer mission trips, retreats, social action, and service opportunities, as well as additional innovative events to pique interest. While preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is certainly part of the Youth Ministry Program, our goal is to help students continue their exploration of their relationship with God and with the Church through beyond the Confirmation classes and guidelines.
We offer students the opportunity to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation throughout grades 9-12 knowing that not everyone is ready to receive the Sacrament at the same time. If you have already begun your preparation, you can log into Confirmation preparation tracking to check your progress.
During their first year of preparation, students attend Bagels and Basics, which covers a different topic each session and gives teens a common understanding of their mutual faith. Freshmen also attend a retreat and participate in 10 hours of community service.
When they are ready, students then choose three mini courses, attend an overnight retreat, attend 'pizza & Theology' sessions, and give back with 20 hours of community service.
In a final time of preparation for Confirmation, students attend a preparation retreat, a Confirmation rehearsal, Reconciliation, and a ToGether in Faith session for students and sponsors.
