Becoming Catholic

God works through ordinary people and events. We may hear God’s call in the beauty of ordinary life, in crises and life changes, or we may just feel something is missing. No matter your reason for considering becoming Catholic, our hope and prayer is that when God calls, you respond. Through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) or Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC), Our Lady Queen of Peace strives to help you learn to respond to the call—not just for the moment of Baptism, but every day.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

For adults seeking Baptism or to join the Catholic Church, or for baptized Catholics wishing to complete initiation through First Eucharist and/or Confirmation, we offer RCIA. This is an experience of Catholic community through educational, social, and spiritual gatherings.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Children

RCIC is designed for children in first through twelfth grades preparing for Baptism and for children in third grade and older preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Because faith formation requires family involvement, we encourage family members to participate in this process.

Baptism & First Eucharist for Children

If you have a child or teen who has not yet had the opportunity to be baptized or receive First Holy Communion, we encourage you to give us a call to start the process.
